Dan Gemeinhart - Storyteller

Welcome to the website of the writings of Dan Gemeinhart!
I’ve been lucky enough to combine two of my most fulfilling joys - working with kids, and literature - into two very rewarding jobs.
By day I’m an elementary teacher-librarian, where it is my privilege and responsibility to share great books with great kids and to get them excited about reading. By night (and morning, and weekend, and summers, and holidays) I am a writer. I try to write stories about the things that are important to kids, filled with characters that they’ll care about, and told in a way that will make them think and laugh. In short, I try to write stories that they will love, books that will make them leave the T.V. off and reach for another book when they’re done.
While I’m not a published author yet, I’m working on it. It’s a tough nut to crack - but as with anything, I believe that persistence, passion and enthusiasm will pay off eventually. If you’re an agent or editor interested in my writing, please contact me at dangemeinhart@gmail.com.

There are few gifts as perfect and fulfilling as the magic of sharing stories with children. The shining eyes, the open mouths, the held breath...children, who still see the whole world as a story being told, lose themselves in literature in way that most adults have sadly forgotten.
